As a student of online marketing, I have been closely following Dan Lok’s coaching and marketing trainings/classes on YouTube for more than 3 years now. After watching hundreds and hundreds of his videos, I believe that I have more than enough knowledge write a Dan Lok review and to review on his teaching style and his personality as a whole. I will also include my DETAILED perspective on Dan Lok’s training: High Ticket Closer (HTC). This Dan Lok review will contain some new and shocking information for his die hard followers and so if you’re one of them, make sure that you read until the END!
A little bit about Dan Lok…
Dan Lok was born and raised in China and he immigrated to Vancouver, Canada with his parents at the age of 14. Since he was a fresh immigrant and didn’t speak the English language, he faced a lot of struggles during his teenage days and was bullied in school. At the age of 16, Dan’s father passed away and left him all alone without a fatherly figure to guide him in life. Despite all of that, he was a hard worker and was able to develop an entrepreneurial mind set at a young age. According to Dan Lok, he started 13 different small businesses and failed at them and he was even scammed for a $100,000 by his own neighbour while doing an internet based business. His first success started once he met Allen who went on to become Dan’s first mentor. Allen taught him the copy writing skill and Dan worked hard at developing this skill until it started earning him $10,000 a month. This was Dan’s first High Income Skill which he talks about a lot in his classes and which I will discuss in more details in the following section.
What Does Dan Lok Teach?
As an affiliate marketer, I was always had an interest in self motivational and online marketing speakers who can enhance my knowledge and boost my motivation to grow in my field. I found many great speakers like Tony Robins, Dan Kennedy and Rich Schefren but for some reason, Dan Lok was one of the few that truly grabbed my attention. One of the reasons why I found him to be unique is because he uploaded hundreds and hundreds of videos on YouTube that provides great value for absolutely free. This actually proves that he’s a smart marketer because he’s creating massive awareness to the “Dan Lok” brand (which can be used in a good or a bad way in the long run). Some of the topics that he teaches which I found beneficial were consumer behaviour, sales/marketing funnels, copy writing, entrepreneur mind set and many other general marketing concepts that he uses. Another thing that I liked about Dan Lok was his confidence, transparency and aggressive speaking skills. And let me remind you, Dan was a non-English speaking introvert when he was young but I guess he worked really hard on his communication and presentation skills. And the final thing that I appreciated about Dan Lok was his honesty and genuine guidance.
Since I have been in the internet marketing space for 5 years now, I know for a fact that NO internet marketing gurus or coaches are willing to give free stuff just like that…There has to be a catch. Knowing this made me a bit suspicious about Dan Lok but I wasn’t sure yet. The only thing that I’ve heard him say that sounded like a sales pitch was the “Wealth Triangle”. This concept consist of 3 phases/steps to real wealth building:
1. An entrepreneur must discover a skill that can earn him/her at least $100,000 a year. In order to do this, the entrepreneur must master the skill and he/she should be able to perform it from anywhere in the world.
2. Once an entrepreneur is able to earn and save from that one unique skill then he/she can move on to the next phase of establishing a business where he/she can leverage others and systems (technology/internet) to run the operations of the business.
3. The final phase is to take a portion of the business earnings and invest it to increate wealth like investments in real estate, other businesses, stocks, etc.
This concept made a lot of sense to me but at the same time, I felt that it’s not applicable for everyone and wealth creation can be achieved using other strategies as well. This is why I expected Dan Lok to announce a new training program that reveals the full steps of the wealth triangle (something similar to the BS that Tai Lopez sells) but he never did. And in fact, I found a short video of Dan Lok saying that he doesn’t believe in the concept of packaging content and selling it, and he’d rather give out the information for free to benefit others. This is the point where I was convinced that Dan Lok isn’t one of these FAKE GURUS that you find online everywhere and he’s actually a REAL entrepreneur who wants to share his experience to help others…Here’s the proof:
High Ticket Closer Review
In mid-2018, I found out that Dan Lok launched the High Ticket Closer (HTC) training program which made me shocked and confused. Dan Lok clearly mentioned in the video I shared above that he will NEVER follow the footsteps of FAKE GURUS and he will continue to provide FREE content online for everyone to benefit from…so what exactly happened? I decided to sign up for the free webinar of the High Ticket Closer to see what he has to say.
The HTC program is technically a 7 week marketing/sales training that will prepare the students to sell products for companies that give HIGH commissions for every sale ($1000 or more per sale). As an affiliate marketer, I already knew that closing ticket isn’t that easy (especially for beginners) but according to Dan, the process won’t be hard because the students of HTC will not do any cold calling but instead, they’ll ONLY speak to targeted and interested clients. He also mentioned that he will introduce HTC students to many great companies who are willing to hire HTC graduates. He concludes the webinar by saying that it will cost $2500 to join the HTC program and the only reason why he charges such a high price is to ensure that the students take this program seriously. Right in that moment, I lost all respect for Dan Lok and I’ve realized that he’s just another SNAKE OIL SALESMAN who’s willing to do whatever it takes to deceive people and take their money. What’s my proof for this? First of all, if I asked him to give me the course for free and I guarantee him that I will be one of the best students in the program, he will reject this offer because he doesn’t care about my success as he claims and this debunks his stupid theory that he mentioned at the end of the webinar. Secondly, I found a detailed video review of one of Dan Lok’s students in the HTC program which is currently available on the Coffeezilla YouTube channel. He said that Dan Lok didn’t fulfill his main promise of connecting the students with hiring companies and that the High Ticket Closer program was just a BIG SALES PITCH for another program called “Closers in Black”. Get the full details in the following video:
The last thing I want to say is that I do respect Dan Lok’s hustle as an entrepreneur and I do appreciate ALL the valuable content that he provides. I’m not a hater but I don’t appreciate the fact that he preaches against FAKE GURUS when he’s actually using the same deceiving and filthy marketing tactics.
